Parabolas (& Absolute Value) Everywhere!

In this project, students find parabola and absolute value shapes in the real world, take a photo, then apply a graph and equation to the photo in Desmos. They then analyze the function's properties including: domain, range, increasing & decreasing intervals, positive & negative intervals, extrema, comparisons to another function, and transformations from the parent function.

Desmos Art Project

In this project, students use equations of fuctions, domain/range restrictions, inequalities, and sliders to create a moving image in Desmos. Some examples of what my students have created are on the right (minus the movement part).

Statistics Project

In this project, students collect and analyze data for a question of their choice!

Number Talks
Math Talk Mondays

This is a collection of problems I have used to spark number talks. I pulled many of them from Which One Doesn't Belong and Estimation 180. I like to do these weekly. They're great warmups for Mondays or before a quiz!
